Performance Achievement Award

MDA PERFORMANCE ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS (HORSE & RIDER TEAMS)

I. General Rules

The following guidelines apply to MDA performance achievement awards: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum level awards. Scores obtained during or since the 2016 competition year are eligible. A single horse and rider combination may earn an award only once at each level and all scores must be earned by that horse rider combination. The rider may earn additional awards at any level on different horses. The award will be a personalized engraved plaque.

II. Eligibility:

  • Rider must be an MDA member in good standing when scores are earned.
  • Rider must meet minimum competition eligibility requirements at the time the scores are earned
  • Horse must be a Registered Morgan Horse and have an AMHA (or appropriate internationally recognized Morgan Registry) number.

III. Recorded Scores and Application:

  • Application must be submitted online using the MDA rider performance award application after all required scores are earned. $30 application fee must be paid before award is shipped out.
  • You can apply to have multiple awards listed on the same plaque for one $30 fee for one rider/horse combination. If you want separate plaques for multiple level awards for the same horse/rider, submit multiple applications, each with a $30 fee.
  • Any score earned at a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition (or equivalent National Dressage regulatory body in your country), from a regular USEF or FEI test, may be used, including scores from test of choice classes.  Scores need not be earned in one year, but only one score per level (eg one at Training, one at First, one at Second etc) is allowed from Breed-restricted USDF-recognized competitions.
  • Eligible scores earned at recognized USEF Special Competitions, held in the US or Canada are also applicable
  • If two or more judges score one ride, the average of their scores counts as one score. A judge panel will be considered different if at least one member of the panel is changed.
  • Each horse and rider combination may earn each award (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Medallion) only once and all scores must be earned by that horse rider combination. The rider may earn additional awards at any level on different horses.
  • Scores must be from scoresheets that are current at the time of the competition.
